How to print on both sides of the paper

Settings to Reduce Paper Waste from your Desktop

 


 

Applications

 

MS Outlook

 

Set the default in your MS Outlook to print two pages per sheet.

Steps

1. Launch MS Outlook

2. Access the Print Dialog Box (File -> Print ...)

3. In the "Print Style" section (left hand side), select a style e.g. "Memo

Style"

4. Click on the "Page Setup..." Button

A page set up dialog box appears e.g. "Page Setup: Memo Style"

5. Click on the Paper Tab

6. In the "Page" section (right hand side), select "Letter Half" as the

Paper Size.

7. Click "OK" to exit from the page set up dialog box

8. Click "OK" to exit from the Print Dialog box.

 

Fabulous! You have cut down your paper usage from this application by 50%


Printers

HP LaserJet 8000 Series PS

A. Printing two pages per sheet of paper.

1. On your desktop, go to the "Printers and Faxes" folder.

e.g. Start --> Settings --> Printers and Faxes

A Windows Explorer window containing a list of printers should appear.

2. Select HP LaserJet 8000 Series PS

3. On the left hand side, under the "Printer Tasks" heading, select "Select Printer Printing Preferences"

The "HP LaserJet 8000 Series PS Printing Preferences" dialog should appear.

4. On the left hand side of the Layout tab, find the "Pages Per Sheet".

5. Select "2" from the drop down list.

6. Click on the OK button.

 

Congratulations! You have cut down your paper usage from this printer by 50%

 

 

Note: Duplex (two sided print) and Booklet printing are currently not available from this printer.


Xerox WorkCentre 24 PCL 6

Duplex (two sided print)

1. On your desktop, go to the "Printers and Faxes" folder.

e.g. Start --> Settings --> Printers and Faxes

A Windows Explorer window containing a list of printers should appear.

2. Select Xerox WorkCentre 24 PCL 6

3. On the left hand side, under the "Printer Tasks" heading, select "Select Printer Printing Preferences"

The "Xerox WorkCentre 24 PCL 6 Printing Preferences" dialog should appear.

4. About midway down on the right hand side of the "Paper/ Output" tab find the "2 Sided Print" label.

5. Select "Flip on Long Edge" or "Flip on Short Edge" from the drop down list.

6. Click OK.

Duplex printing will now be the default for print jobs sent from your desktop to this printer.

Booklet printing (4 pages per sheet in Booklet format)

1. On your desktop, go to the "Printers and Faxes" folder.

e.g. Start --> Printers and Faxes

A Windows Explorer window containing a list of printers should appear.

2. Select Xerox WorkCentre 24 PCL 6

3. On the left hand side, under the "Printer Tasks" heading, select "Select Printer Printing Preferences"

The "Xerox WorkCentre 24 PCL 6 Printing Preferences" dialog should appear. Make sure that the printer is set up for Duplex printing (see above section)

4. On the Paper/Output tab, click on the "Poster/ Booklet" button.

The "Poster/ Booklet" dialog appears.

5. Activate the "Booklet Creation" radio button.

6. Alter the Booklet Creation parameters as required

7. Click OK to return to The "Xerox WorkCentre 24 PCL 6 Printing Preferences" dialog

8. Click OK again to save your changes.

 

You're done! Way to go, you have cut down your paper usage by 75%
